Deputies Respond to Gunshot Incident

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On the morning of May 11,2011, at approximately 9:11 a.m., Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a call regarding an incident at a ranch located on north west of highway I-35 north of Laredo. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies discovered Isauro Fructoso Serena, 45 years of age, who had an apparant gunshot wound to the head. Sheriff’s Deputies immediately contacted Emergency Medical Services for assistance. Serena was transported to University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas where he remained in critical condition. On May 12, 2011, Sheriff’s Investigators were notified that Mr. Serena had passed away at approximately 12:21 a.m. At this time there are no signs of foul play. The Webb County Sheriff’s Investigators are waiting official results from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office for cause of death report. This case is still under investigation.
