Mayor Commends 911 Telecommunicators for their Hard Work

Mayor Raul Salinas dropped by the Laredo Police Headquarters this week in order to share his appreciation for the 911 Telecommunications division as part of National Telecommunications week. The week is filled with a variety of events centered around the unseen heroes who are the lifeline of the entire city. The dispatchers started out their week by visiting local retirement homes on Sunday and offering serenades to the elderly citizens of the community.
The week includes a luncheon at La Posada and other activities including award recognitions for various acts of courage while in their line of duty from calls to 911 which make the difference between life and death on a daily basis. This morning the Mayor along with the Police Chief’s Administration and City of Laredo 911 Administration brought breakfast tacos for the dispatchers and 911 operators. The Mayor handed out a special keepsake to the division as his way of saying thank you for all that they do.
