Community Meetings Will Gauge Public’s Needs, Wants for Federal Funding

skate parks, splash parks, softball fields, soccer fields, recreation centers, park lighting, street improvements, drainage improvements, traffic signalization, housing rehabilitation, help to avoid housing eviction or disconnection of utilities, down payment assistance for homebuyers, rental assistance, demolition of substandard buildings, police sub-stations, code enforcement, graffiti removal, or anything else? 

Tell us! 

The Department of Community Development has scheduled a series of public meetings to give YOU (our citizens) an opportunity to express your housing and community development needs. 

Comments received will be made part of the 2011 Consolidated One Year Action Plan that will outline how Program Year 2011 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program, American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI), and Emergency Shelter Grant ( ESG) funds will be utilized.

         Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

         Daiches Elementary School Gymnasium, 1401 Green 

Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

         Cigarroa Recreation Center, 2200 Zacatecas Street 

         Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

         Laredo Housing Authority, 2000 San Francisco Avenue 

         Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

         San Francisco Javier Church, 2502 Zaragoza 

Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

East Hachar Recreation Center, 1102 N. Smith Avenue

Thursday, April 26, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.
