The City of Laredo Selects On Course Strategies LLC as PR Agency For New RTJ II Municipal Golf Course

-The Max A. Mandel Golf Course To Debut November 2011-
(Laredo, Texas) – The City of Laredo, Texas announced its selection of Connecticut-based golf public relations and event marketing firm On Course Strategies LLC to coordinate special events and public relations assignments relating to the Robert Trent Jones, II designed Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course.
A media preview event will take place on April 13 when Mr. Jones and his senior project architect, Mark Voss, visit the property to review construction progress.
“As in the selection of designers for our municipal golf course, the City of Laredo had to choose from among the elite golf public relations and event marketing agencies vying for this project,” said Horacio De Leon, Assistant City Manager for the City of Laredo and project manager for the golf course. “In the end, we felt that On Course Strategies brought the passion and experience that will help create the level of excitement for not only the visit with Mr. Jones, a world-renowned golf course designer, but also, for our municipal golf course construction and development, that will help set this golf course apart from other municipal golf courses throughout Texas.
The City of Laredo has already broken ground on the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course and is bringing the project to fruition with key community, as well as third party partners, including the Mandel Family; Foresight Golf, the operator; Landscapes Unlimited, the construction firm; and of course, Robert Trent Jones II, as the architect.
“The Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course will be a shining light for the City of Laredo and we are proud to be involved in telling its story to a regional, national and international media audience,” said Jane Dally, managing partner of On Course Strategies. “Having a RTJ II design along the Rio Grande will be a draw for all golfers.”
The Max A. Mandel Golf Course is expected to open in November 2011.
