LISD Officials Meet with Congressman Cuellar

Congressman Henry Cuellar (center) met with officials of the Laredo Independent School District on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in Washington, D.C. Congressman Cuellar and LISD Board President George M. Beckelhymer (left) and Carlos Rios (right), LISD’s Executive Director of Academic Accountability and Compliance discussed issues ranging from pre-kinder education to flu vaccinations to the No Child Left Behind Act.
“I always look forward to visiting with Laredo ISD officials as we work to better educational opportunities for children in the 28th District of Texas,” Cuellar said. “These meetings are productive as we guide policies and legislation best suited for Texas classrooms. I thank LISD President Becklhymer and Mr. Rios for their visit and look forward to our continued work.”
