Emergency Closure of US 59 EB Lanes at IH 35 due east

LAREDO – Effective immediately, US 59 ( Lafayette St.-Saunders St. ) eastbound main lanes from under IH 35 for two blocks to San Eduardo Ave. intersection will be closed to traffic due to a ruptured water main and work being conducted by the City of Laredo Utilities Department. Expected time of closure is approximately five (5) hours. Detours are in effect.
The Texas Department of Transportation STRATIS (South Texas Regional Advanced Transportation Information System) has placed traffic notices on IH 35 north- and southbound dynamic message signs (DMSs) advising the traveling public of detours and to seek alternate routes. Messages read: Eastbound IH 35 traffic, use alternate route.
