UPDATE – US 83 (Guadalupe-Chihuahua) Street-Lane Closures

LAREDO, Tx -The following street-lane closures are in effect for US 83 (Guadalupe-Chihuahua Sts.) between Monterrey Ave. and Cedar Ave. in Laredo/Webb County:
•NEW Sanders Avenue, between Rosario and Chihuahua , will be closed February 23, 2011 for approximately one week.
•Marcella Avenue, between Guadalupe and Chihuahua , will be closed beginning on Monday, February 21, 2011. The Contractor will begin placing forms on bent 2 on northbound Guadalupe and will require the street to be closed to perform this work due to the close proximity to the street. It will remain closed for a period of three (3) weeks. Traffic on southbound Marcella will be detoured to Monterrey Avenue . Traffic on northbound Marcella will be detoured onto Springfield Avenue .
•Chihuahua/Marcella and Guadalupe/Marcella traffic signals were placed on flash on Monday, February 21, 2011. Chihuahua and Guadalupe will be flashing yellow and Marcella will be flashing red.
•Chihuahua/Marcella and Guadalupe/Marcella traffic signals will be removed on March 3, 2011 and temporary stops signs will be installed on Marcella (northbound/southbound) at the intersection of Chihuahua/Marcella and Guadalupe/Marcella.
•Chihuahua St., one outside eastbound lane, between Maryland and Lexington Avenue CLOSED 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday. Merge to open lane.
•Chihuahua St., one outside eastbound lane, from Monterrey Ave. to the west and Sanders to the east will remain CLOSED daily until 4 p.m. Merge to open lane.
•Lexington Ave. between Chihuahua and Guadalupe streets remains CLOSED indefinitely for the duration of the project. Detour in effect.
•Sanders Ave. between Guadalupe and Chihuahua streets remains CLOSED indefinitely for the duration of the project. Detour in effect.
The traveling public is asked to exercise extreme caution and observe all traffic safety signs, road markings and channelization devices in and around the work area. Caution around heavy machinery and tractor-trailer traffic.
