CBP Officers at Eagle Pass Port of Entry Seize 111 Pounds of Marijuana, Piedras Negras Man Arrested

EAGLE PASS, TEXAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry on Thursday seized 111 pounds of alleged marijuana during a routine vehicle inspection. The seizure occurred on Feb. 24 at the Camino Real Bridge . A CBP officer referred a 1993 Ford F-150 pickup driven by a male 30-year-old U.S. citizen from Piedras Negras, Coahuila , Mexico for a secondary examination. In secondary, CBP officers combed the vehicle during an intensive examination and discovered a total of 48 packages containing 111 pounds of alleged marijuana in the spare tire and gas tank. The street value of the alleged marijuana is $111,000
CBP officers turned the driver over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation and seized the vehicle and the contraband.
