Webb County Commissioner Jerry Garza will be conducting a walk-thru of the new North Side International Park construction site Tuesday, January 11 at 10:15 a.m. to check the status of construction. Construction started on the project in May of last year, and when finish, will improve the quality of life for residents in the area by providing jogging and walking trails as well as tennis and basketball courts.
“I’m really excited for the residents of my precinct because soon they will have a park they can call their own that will also feature soccer and football fields as well as a skateboard park and playground,” said Commissioner Garza.
The park is a joint effort between Webb County and the United Independent School District.
Commissioner Garza will be accompanied by UISD Board Members Judd Gilpin and Javier Montemayor as well as City Council Member Charlie San Miguel and Mario Pena of Hickey Pena Architects.
