Players and Staff Visit Pediatric Unit
(LAREDO, Texas)- Heat Players and Staff with gifts in tow visited the Doctors Hospital Pediatric Unit on Thursday afternoon to spread some holiday cheer to the smallest and youngest of patients.
The players handed out toys and Laredo Heat balls, sling bags and shirts. “Participating in these events is a very unique way for us to give back to the community that supports us during the season”, mentioned Heat player Juan de Dios Ibarra. Added Heat Mid-Fielder and Captain Daniel Galvan, “Personally, I enjoy visiting with the young patients at the hospital because as a kid I cannot imagine being away from friends and family during the holidays. I know that many times some of these children, the last place they want to be is at the hospital and if our visit brings a smile to their face, it is all worth it.”
The Laredo Heat Soccer Club would like to thank all the fine doctors and staff at Doctors Hospital, most especially Public Relations Director David Gonzalez for his hospitality during our visit.
