Laredo, Texas –U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry seized 14 pounds of crystal methamphetamines (meth) at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge. The seizure occurred on Monday, November 8th when a CBP officer referred a 2003 Ford F-150 for a secondary examination after discrepancies were noted in the engine area.  CBP officers conducted an intensive examination of the pick-up truck and discovered one package that contained 14 pounds of alleged crystal methamphetamines.  The meth has an estimated street value of $210,000.

CBP officers seized the narcotics and the vehicle.   The driver, a 28-year-old female Mexican citizen and resident of Loganville, GA. was turned over by CBP officers to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) agents for further investigation.

“Our CBP officers are the first line of defense and their continued hard work and dedication successfully shuts down smuggling attempts and prevents significant loads of narcotics from entering our country,” said Gene Garza, Port Director, Laredo, Texas.
