CBP Officers at Laredo Port of Entry Arrest Illinois Man Wanted on Sexual Assault Warrant

LAREDO, TEXAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry on Thursday apprehended an Illinois man wanted on an outstanding warrant for criminal sexual assault. The Nov. 4 apprehension occurred at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge . A CBP officer referred bus passenger Humberto Guzman Robles, a 43-year-old male Mexican citizen from Belvidere , Ill. , for a secondary examination after a query at primary inspection revealed he was a possible match to an outstanding warrant. In secondary, CBP officers verified Guzman Robles’ identity and confirmed he had an outstanding warrant from Boone County , Ill. for criminal sexual assault. After confirming the warrant was active, CBP officers turned Guzman Robles over to the custody of Webb County sheriff’s deputies for transportation to jail pending extradition proceedings.
