Accident on Zapata Highway and Pine

The Laredo Police Department C.R.A.S.H. Team is conducting an investigation regarding an accident that happened on Tuesday November 16th at 1 pm at the intersection of Pine and Zapata Highway. The case involves a white van and a small black passenger vehicle. The driver and sole occupant of the black car was identified as Manuel Cavazos, age 22. Cavazos sustained serious injuries and was transported to LMC ER and is listed in critical condition. The driver of the van was not seriously injured. He was detained and is being questioned by local law enforcement agencies. The van contained several wrapped bundles of narcotics. The details leading up to the investigation are being investigated.
