7th Murder of the Year

On Tuesday September 14th, at approx. 12:08 am, the Laredo Police Communication Center received calls of shots fired which was reportedly coming from the 300 block of El Monte Loop. When officers arrived at the scene they found one male, later identified as Fidencio Cardenas, who resided at the 300 block of El Monte Loop, outside his residence lying on the ground. The man had been shot multiple times and was declared dead at the scene. Other responding officers secured the scene and attempted to locate evidence. The Webb County Medical Examiner took custody of the body and will conduct an autopsy. The Crimes against Persons Homicide division is conducting an ongoing investigation. This marks the city’s 7th murder of the year.
