5 People Charged with Kidnapping and Engaging in Organized Crime

 On Sunday, September 19, 2010, at approximately 11:30 pm, the Laredo Police Department received a 911 call indicating a disturbance by 1300 Eistetter St. Upon officers arrival witnesses stated that a 37 year old woman had been forced into an SUV by unidentified suspects and taken against her will.  Investigators assigned to the Crimes against Persons division started an intense investigation into the matter. 

 On Monday, September 20, 2010, Laredo Police Department detectives had developed leads and information which led them to the 1400 block of Piedra China Street.  At approximately 8:00 pm, Laredo Police Department CAPERS detectives arrived at a residence at the 1400 Piedra China Street. Upon entering the residence the officers secured the residence and found Juan Rene GARZA,  identified as the owner of said residence, Efrain GarzaEfrain GARZA,  and Ernesto Zaragoza SOLIZ,Ernesto Zaragoza Solis, along with two females, identified as Sarah Lorraine MUNIZ,  and Grace MARTINEZ, .  Investigators also found the victim inside the residence.  The victim was emotionally distressed and relieved that she had been rescued by officers of the Laredo Police Department.  The victim was examined by the Laredo Fire Department EMS but did not require medical transport. 

   Investigators presented the case to Webb County District Attorney’s Office which in turn approved arrest complaints against suspect Efrain GARZA (Aggravated Kidnapping F/1; and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/1), Ernesto Zaragoza SOLIZ (Aggravated Kidnapping F/1 and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/1), Juan Rene GarzaJuan Rene GARZA (Aggravated Kidnapping F/1 and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/1), Sarah MUNIZ Sara Lorainne Muniz(Aggravated Kidnapping F/1 and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/1), and Grace Diaz

Grace MARTINEZ (Aggravated Kidnapping F/1 and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/1).  The case is open and ongoing.  Possible additional arrests are pending.
