Sheriff’s Deputies Take More Drugs Off the Streets

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at approximately 5 p.m., The Webb County Sheriff’s Office received a call through their Crime Stoppers tip line, which led Deputies to the 300 block of South Buena Vista street. Upon arrival, Deputies immediately conducted a narcotics investigation finding 2 subjects inside the residence. A detailed search was conducted by a Sheriff’s K9 who immediately alerted Deputies to the sofa’s cushion. Deputies immediately found 607 individual street level doses of cocaine at an estimated weight of 70 grams. During the search, Deputies also discovered 6 baggies of marijuana ready for street level sales. The marijuana baggies had an approximate weight of 1.5 oz. Also found was a 357 caliber handgun and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The Cocaine and marijuana have an estimated street value of $6,000. Arrested was Andres Guajardo, 28, and Aziel Staggs, 21, they were both charged with Possession of marijuana, class B and Possession of controlled substance, felony 2.
“Our office continues to arrest criminals that are directly affecting our community. Not only major drug traffickers but street level dealers who directly affect our community”. Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.
