LAREDO, TEXAS – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry this weekend apprehended a Milford , Mass. man wanted on an outstanding warrant that was later upgraded to murder. The apprehension occurred on Aug. 14, 2010 at Gateway to the Americas Bridge . A CBP officer referred pedestrian Kyle Alleyne, a 24-year-old male U.S. citizen from Milford , Mass. for a secondary examination after a query of CBP national database systems at primary inspection revealed he was a possible match to an outstanding warrant. In secondary, CBP officers verified Alleyne’s identity and confirmed he had an outstanding warrant from Framingham , Mass. for a probation violation. After confirming the warrant was active, CBP officers turned Alleyne over to the custody of Webb County sheriff’s deputies for adjudication of the warrant. It was subsequently determined while Alleyne was in Webb County Sheriff’s Department custody that he also would be served with an additional warrant for murder in connection with the stabbing death of his 19-year-old wife.
“Our frontline CBP officers continue to remain vigilant at the port of entry and their use of CBP national databases was crucial the interception of a man who was later found to also be wanted for murder,” said Noel Sanchez, Acting CBP Port Director, Laredo. “Our officers quick actions exemplify their continuing commitment to keeping our borders secure.”
