Canseco goes 4 for 5 with four RBI, Broncos win tenth in a row

(August 20th)- EDINBURG, TX -The Broncos banged out 17 runs on 19 hits, being paced by Jose Canseco who turned his best night at the plate as a Bronco. Canseco went 4 for 5 with four RBI and a home run, his third as a Bronco. RHP Matt Gibbs (7-3) made his eighth start of the year for the Broncos and second against Edinburg who sent Jose Pablo Oyervidez (2-1) to the mound.
The Broncos in the top of the first with one out took a walk by Maiko Loyola and a single by Jonel Pacheco. Jose Canseco, in his first plate appearance, was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out. Jonathan Cisneros then worked an RBI walk to give the Broncos the 1-0 lead and Salvador Paniagua hit an RBI single and the score after just half an inning was 2-0 Broncos.
In the top of the second after Mahin struck out and Flynn grounded out to start the inning Jason Diaz singled, followed by a Maiko Loyola single, a Jonel Pacheco two run double and an RBI single by Jose Canseco to make it a 5-0 Broncos lead.
In the top of the fifth the Broncos added a run to their lead. Jose Canseco singled with one out and a passed ball moved him to second base. After a Jonathan Cisneros strike out Salvador Paniagua singled into center field and Canseco
In he top of the seventh Jose Pablo Oyervidez delivered a fast ball to Jose Canseco that he hit over the left field foul pole, over the Broncos bullpen and out of the stadium for a solo home run, his third of the year and it gave the Broncos a 7-0. Canseco’s home run started the scoring for the Broncos in the seventh. Cisneros drew a walk afterwards and Oyervidez exited the game. RHP Aaron Guerra (6-1) came on and allowed a single to Paniagua and a three run homer to Carlos Arroyo, his eighth home run of the year and it was a 10-0 Bronco lead. With one out Ryan Flynn singled and Maiko Loyola walked with two outs. Doug Thennis pinch hit for center fielder Jonel Pacheco and hit a two run triple to make 12-0 Broncos. Jose Canseco came up for the second time in the inning and reached on an error to score Thennis and give the Broncos the 13-0 lead.
Gibbs started the bottom of the seventh and allowed a solo home run to Carlos Hereaud to make it a 13-1 Broncos lead. Gibbs the walked the next batter and Manager Dan Firova went to the bullpen. RHP Alex Morales (1-0) came on in relief and allowed three hits and he walked a batter and the Road Runners were able to bring home five runs in the inning. At the conclusion of seven innings the Broncos led 13-5.
In the top of the ninth the Road Runners brought in their centerfielder Ambiorix Concepcion to pitch. Flynn reached on an error to start the inning. Jason Diaz then walked and Maiko Loyola hit an RBI double to make it 14-5 Broncos. Jose Canseco took his sixth at bat of the game and hit a two run double to give the Broncos a 16-5 lead and Salvador Panigua knocked in Canseco with a single to complete the scoring; 17-5 Broncos.
RHP James Maxwell stayed on and pitched a scoreless ninth inning and the Broncos secured their tenth victory in a row.
