Broncos score in five innings, bring home ten runs to even the series at a game a piece with Amarillo

(August 8th, AMARILLO, TX) –The Broncos scored ten runs on 11 hits and the Dillas committed six errors in the 10-4 Bronco victory in game two of the series at the Dilla Villa.  The Broncos, looking to even the series at a game a piece, sent the righty Matt Gibbs (5-3) to the mound to face off against RHP Ryan Mitchell (5-3) for the Dillas.

 With two outs in the top of the first D.J Dixon singled, followed by a Pacheco being hit by a pitch.  Jonathan Cisneros then hit an RBI single that scored Dixon. An error was charged to left fielder Adam De La Garza that allowed the trail runner to score on Cisneros single and the Broncos had a 2-0 lead.

 Gibbs got a double play ball to end the first and only faced three batters in the inning.

 The Broncos added a run in the top of the second when Jonathan Dziomba was hit by a pitch and came home to score on the RBI single by Jason Diaz that gave the Broncos the 3-0 lead.

 Amarillo got on the board in the bottom of the second when Stephen Douglas singled to start the inning.  Douglas then stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch. Andrew Wong brought Douglas home on an RBI ground out and the score was 3-1 Broncos.

 The Broncos continued to add to their lead in the top of the fourth.  Jonathan Dziomba reached on an error charged to Alberto Cruz.  Ziomba then stole second and scored on the RBI single by Carlos Arroyo and the score was 4-1 Broncos.

 Two runs came home for the Broncos in the top of the fifth when Jonel Pacheco started things off with a double.  A fly out by Cisneros moved Pacheco to third and Pacheco came home to score on the Salvador Paniagua sacrifice fly to give the Broncos the 5-1 lead.  Nick Mahin then doubled and came home on the RBI Jonathan Dziomba gave the Broncos the 6-1 lead. 

 Gibbs faced only two batters over the minimum from the third through the fifth innings.

 The Broncos brought home four runs in the top of the sixth to blow the game open when Diaz and Arroyo took back to back to walks. Dixon brought home Diaz with an RBI single to give the Broncos the 7-1 lead. An error charged to center fielder Stephen Douglas moved both base runners up a bag.  Jonel Pacheco then walked to load the bases and Cisneros took an RBI walk to make the score 8-1 Broncos. Nick Mahin reached on a fielder’s choice when Frank Coralla threw wide of the plate and allowed two runs to score to give Laredo a 10-1 lead.

 In the bottom of the sixth Gibbs gave up back to back to singles to bring up Julio Martinez, who then planted one over the left field walk for a three run homer to make the score 10-4 Broncos.

 Neither team score in the final three frames and 10-4 was the final, the Broncos were victorious in game two of the series with Amarillo.
