Welinson Baez struck out and a figment pitch inside hit Welington Dotel to put runners on first and second.  Arlon Quiroz came up and brought home Ventura with an RBI single and one batter later Roberto Rodriguez brought home Dotel with a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-1 Wings.

Back to back doubles by Luany Sanchez and Yeury Tejeda to start the bottom of the third put runners on second and third with no outs.  Leivi Ventura walked to load the bases and Welinson Baez knocked in two runs with a single to make the score 4-1 Wings. Welington Dotel, the very next batter hit an RBI single to bring home Ventura from third to push the Wings lead to 5-1.

The score remained 5-1 Wings until the top of the seventh.  Cross allowed a lead off single to Jonathan Cisneros, his second hit of the game.  With one out Carlos Arroyo singled and Nick Mahin worked a walk to load the bases and bring the tying run to the plate.  Ryan Flynn lined a base clearing, three run double down the right field line to make the score 5-4 Wings.

Santo Hernandez allowed a two out double to Welinson Baez in the bottom of the seventh and that spelled the end for Hernandez. He departed after allowing ten hits, five runs (all earned), two walks, and he struck out two in 6.2 innings pitched.

Jonel Pacheco off of David Cross hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth to tie the ball game at 5-5. Cross retired Jose Canseco, the next batter and was pulled from the game. Cross pitched 7.1 innings, allowing eight hits, five runs (all earned) he walked three and struck out five.

Both Hernandez and Cross received no decisions for their efforts.

In the bottom of the eighth against RHP Maximinio De La Cruz Arlon Quiroz reached on an infield single to start the inning. De La Cruz then retired the next two hitters with ease until Javis Diaz reached on an infield single and Luany Sanchez knocked in Quiroz with an RBI single to make the score 6-5 Wings.  Sanchez took off to steal second base and got caught in a rundown that allowed Diaz to score from third to make the score 7-5 Wings and Yeury Tejeda followed up with an RBI single to push the lead to 8-5 Wings.

The Broncos, in the top of the ninth had Jason Diaz reach on a single but that was as close as they got; falling to the Wings 8-5 game one of the series.
