Broncos give up two home runs in the ninth; fall to Colts 8-5 in game one of the series

The Broncos (13-20) and Colts (17-16) were all tied at five in the top of the ninth when the Colts erupted for two home runs in the inning and secured the 8-5 win in game on of the four game series at Veterans Field.
RHP Jeff Jamnik (0-1), making his first start of the season for the Broncos allowed two runs in the top of the first to the Colts. An RBI double by Jason Croslands gave the Colts a 1-0 lead and Adam Hale followed up with an RBI single and the score was 2-0 Colts.
The Broncos evened things up in the bottom of the second off the Colts starter RHP Ezequiel Astacio (3-2). Luany Sanchez hit an RBI single to make the score 2-1 COlts and David Fowler grounded into an RBI fielder’s choice to tie the game at two.
A solo home run to start off the top of the third gave the Colts the lead back 3-2 and later in the inning Josh Collazzo hit an RBI single to stretch the Colts lead to 4-2.
The Broncos scored in three innings in a row to take back the lead. In the bottom of the third Nick Mahin hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-3 Colts. The Broncos tied the game again when Luany Sanchez came home to score on a wild pitch by Astacio and the score was 4-4. The bottom of the fifth D.J Dixon hit an RBI single to give the Broncos a 5-4 lead.
The Colts tied the game at five in the top of the seventh when a throwing error by RHP Matt Gibbs (1-0) allowed Jason Crosland to score.
RHP Franklyn Gracesqui (0-1) came into the game for the ninth inning and allowed all four batters he faced to reach base. Including giving up two home runs in the inning. Adam Hale hit a solo home run and Landon Camp hit a two run shot to give the Colts an 8-5 lead.
RHP Michael Hacker, the COlts closer, came into the game for the bottom of the ninth and retired the Broncos in order to earn the save.

The Broncos play a double header Saturday at Veterans Field against the Colts. First pitch for game one of the double header will be at 5:05 PM with game two starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
