Broncos fall to the Dillas

The second tightly contested game of the series goes to Amarillo (31-23) after the Dillas scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat the Broncos (26-39) 7-5 in game two of the series.

 The Broncos, in game two of the four game series with Amarillo sent RHP Mat Gibbs (3-2) to the mound, he squared off against LHP Ronald Lowe (5-2).

 The Broncos jumped out to the early lead when, with two down, Doug Thennis singled.  Carlos Arroyo then doubled and after a Ryn Flynn walk loaded the bases D.J Dixon it an RBI single to give the Broncos the 1-0 lead. Jason Diaz came to the plate and took an RBI walk to score the Broncos second run of the ball game and Laredo led 2-0.

 In the bottom of the third the Dillas tied the game.  Brian Bueno singled and came home to score the first Dilla run when Jermel Lomack tripled.  Adam De La Garza tied the game with an RBI ground out and the score was 2-2.

 In the bottom of the fourth Amarillo took the lead. , with two out, Stephen Douglas singled and came home to score on Alberto Cruz’s RBI double and the Dillas led 3-2.

 In the bottom of the fifth Amarillo added to their lead.  Again with two outs, Gibbs walked Adam De La Garza followed by three consecutive singles by the Dillas and the Amarillo lead was 5-2.

 The Broncos tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the sixth.  After Thennis singled and Arroyo reached on an error D.J Dixon brought them both home with an two run double and the score 5-4 Dillas.  Jason Diaz then knocked in the tying run with a single and the game was tied 5-5.

 Amarillo scored the game winner in the bottom of the seventh when Jermel Lomack doubled to lead off the inning.  Adam De La Garza brought him home with a single and the Dillas took the 6-5 lead.

 The insurance run came in the bottom of the eighth for the Dillas. Andrew Wong singled to start the inning. A wild pitch moved him to second base and Rob Recuenco brought him home with an RBI single and the Dila lead was 7-5.

 Ramon Geronimo came on in the ninth and retired the Broncos in order to pick up his twelfth save.

 RHP Tyler Pearson (3-0) picked up the win with 1.2 innings pitched, allowing only one hit an nor runs. 

 The Dilla starter Ronald Lowe took a tough no decision, throwing six inning allowing five runs, only two earned on nine hits, he walked four And struck out ten.
