Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010, at approximately 8:00 a.m., The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit with the assistance of Drug Enforcement Administration, executed a state narcotics search warrant at the 3000 block of St. Pius Lane in Laredo, TX. Execution of the warrant led to the seizure of 26.5 pounds of marijuana at an estimated street value of $13,409.00, also confiscated was cellophane wrap used for the wrapping of narcotics and shipping materials. Cynthia Yvette Salazar, 28 and Isaias Marquez Salazar, 34, were arrested and charged with possession of marijauna in a drug free zone, a felony 2 offense on account of the residence being in close proximity of a park and endangering of a child, a state jail felony.
“In an effort in Keeping our Kids Safe, Our officers continue to deter criminal activity near drug free zones” Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.
