Heat Coming Off 6 – 0 Win Over El Paso
(Laredo)-After their best offensive performance of the new season, the Laredo Heat (3 – 2 – 0, 9 points) are poised to host the Houston Leones (0 – 3 – 1, 1 point) at the Texas A&M International Soccer Complex on Friday, June 4th. Kick-off is set for 8:00 PM.
General admission tickets are only $5.00 for adults and thanks to all of the Heat sponsors, children 12 and under are admitted into the game free of charge.
Last week versus the El Paso Patriots (2 – 3 – 1, 7 points), the Heat unleashed an offensive barrage by scoring six goals, two in the first half and four in the second half respectively and handed the Sun City squad a 6 – 0 loss. Scoring for the Heat were Felix Garcia (3), Esteban Bayona (2) and Juan de Dios Ibarra (1).
The Heat hopes to continue with their winning ways at home, not to mention, hoping to continue scoring goals in bunches, versus the Houston Leones this week.
“Last week, our fans enjoyed a great game, not only because we scored the six goals but because our defense was solid and did not allow the Patriots to test our goalkeepers,” said Heat General Manager J.J. Vela.
“We had over 1,000 people cheering us on and this coming Friday versus Houston I hope those folks bring a friend or two to help the players play as well as they did last week.”
Vela concluded, “Our game versus Houston is the first of three home games this month as we will only be out of town twice in June so our immediate home stand is of the outmost importance to us and we hope to have a successful June and accumulate the most points before heading into the home stretch of our season in July and as I have mentioned before, having a loud and boisterous crowd at our home games really motivates the guys playing on the pitch.”
At every home game, if the Heat scores three or more goals, the Chick-Fil-A Mall del Norte location gives every paid ticket holder a voucher for a free regular chicken sandwich.
