Broncos score five runs in the eighth; defeat Dillas 10-8 in game two of the series

(LAREDO, TX)- The Broncos scored five runs in the eighth inning to complete a come from behind victory over the Dillas by the final of 10-8. LHP Brian Buchanan (2-1) was making his sixth start of the year for the Broncos and his first since being pulled early with soreness in his fore arm. Starting game two for the Dillas was RHP Taylor Allen (1-2) for the Dillas. Buchanan got banged around, only lasting two innings.
In the top of the first the Dillas loaded the bases on an infield single and two walks. Three straight RBI ground balls, two singles and a fielder’s choice gave the Dillas a 3-0 lead. With two out Sam Palace hit a two run double to hang the crooked number on the Buchanan and the Broncos. After just the top half of the first inning the Dillas led 5-0.
The Broncos scratched and clawed their way back in this one, one run at a time. In the first Jason Diaz walked, moved to second base a groundout. He then stole second base and on the play there was a passed ball that allowed Diaz to score. The Dillas led 5-1 after one inning.
The Dillas continued to add to their lead one run at a time. Scoring one run in the third inning, one run in the fourth inning and one run in the eighth inning.
The Broncos kept within striking distance the entire way. After reaching on an error, Ryan Flynn scored an RBI groundout by Doug Thennis to make the score 6-2 Dillas.
In the fourth inning, with two out and two on Flynn came through with a clutch two run single to inch the Broncos closer; they now trailed 7-4.
In the fifth frame back to back singles put runners on the corners and Luany Sanchez hit a SAC fly to make the score 7-5 Dillas.
In the bottom of the eighth with the Dillas leading 8-5 the Broncos finally got over the hump. Luany Sanchez led off with a single, followed by a D.J Dixon single and Wolgamot reached on an infield single. The bases loaded and nobody out for Ryan Flynn. Dillas manager Brady Bogart went the bullpen, bringing in RHP Joseph Muro (0-1). Muro walked Flynn to force home a run and make the score 8-6 Dillas. Then Muro gave up a single to Diaz to make the score 8-7 Dillas and finally Muro hit Doug Thennis to force in the tying run. Bogart went back to the bullpen, bringing in RHP Tyler Pearson (1-0). With Kenny Gilbert up to bat the catcher Sam Palace was charged with a passed ball that gave the Broncos the 9-8 lead. Carlos Arroyo would reach on an error bringing home Diaz and the score was 10-8 Broncos.
Closer Franklyn Gracesqui came on in the ninth and struck out the last two batters he faced to pick up his fourth save of the season and put the Broncos in the win column in game two of this four game set.
