Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – Sheriff Martin Cuellar was recently appointed to serve as Director on the Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition (TBSC) Board.  The Coalition was organized May 4, 2005 and is represented by the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of each respective county.

“I am deeply and sincerely grateful to serve on such prestigious board, it is one of the greatest honors ever bestowed upon me.” Said Sheriff Cuellar.

The purposes for which the Coalition is organized are to operate exclusively to assist Texas Sheriffs in Texas counties along the international boundary between the United States of America and the Republic of Mexico with the protection of lives, property and the rights of the citizens and inhabitants, maintain order and security in the United States along the Republic of Mexico boundary, enforce the law impartially, and provide police service in partnership with other law enforcement agencies and community partners.

“I am very proud to have Sheriff Cuellar serve on the board, we are glad he accepted this honor.  Newly incoming chairman, Sheriff Clint McDonald, Terrell County, appointed Sheriff Cuellar to the board immediately and without hesitation.”  Said Don Reay, Executive Director of the Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition.
