(Laredo, TX): The Laredo Heat Soccer Club (1 – 0 – 0 / 3 points) is headed to Brownsville this weekend for a Saturday evening match versus the Rio Grande Valley Bravos (0 – 1 – 0 / 0 points). The Bravos franchise will be hosting the Gateway City club at the Brownsville Sports Park. Kick-off at the soccer specific turf field that measures 120 x 84 yards is set for 8:00 P.M.

Both teams opened their Premier Development League (PDL) regular season last Friday night in Laredo. The Heat handled the Bravos on their home turf by a score of 3 – 1.

“Do we expect to head down to Brownsville and get another win? Absolutely not”, said Heat General Manager J.J. Vela.

“Last week in Laredo, the Bravos showed up with a minimum roster and very little pre-season training due to getting a late start             on their season after a new group took ownership of the franchise late in the game.”

Added Vela, “We are aware of the talent level in the Rio Grande Valley and with this game on Saturday being the Bravos home opener at a new stadium and a new city, we know to expect their coaching staff and players to be ready to defend their pitch and showcase themselves to a new set of fans”.

“It will be another excellent match between two PDL clubs from South Texas and as always, the Heat will try to bring home another three points in the form of a road victory”, concluded Vela.

Heat fans that want to follow the action on Saturday night can do so via Twitter and Facebook. On either social media website, fans can add the Laredo Heat by searching for “Laredo Heat Soccer Club”. Updates will be provided when either team scores or when the action of the game dictates that fans be informed.
