City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas welcomed three outstanding U.I.S.D teachers to City Hall, congratulating them on their recent recognition.  This year’s Golden Apple winner and runners-up received plaques from Mayor Salinas, highlighting their accomplishment.  Ms. Elma Campos Almendarez, Nye Elementary teacher and Golden Apple Award 2^nd Runner-Up; Ms. Rita Hedke, United High School teacher and Golden Apple Award winner; and Ms. Mary C. Martinez, K. Tarver Elementary School and Golden Apple Award 1^st Runner-Up all joined Salinas in his office, as he offered them words of praise and encouragement.
