Laredo, Texas – On Thursday, Sheriff Cuellar visited the children at Wiggles Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Laredo as they celebrate Occupational Therapy Month. The children and therapists welcomed Sheriff Cuellar and were thankful for the baskets.
Wiggles Rehabilitation is one of several clinics in Laredo that offers Occupational Therapy. Occupational Therapy is a treatment that focuses on helping people achieve independence in all areas of their lives. Wiggles Rehab. offers kids with various needs positive, fun activities to improve their cognitive, physical, and motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
“Some people may think that occupational therapy is only for adults; children, after all, do not have occupations. But a child’s main job is playing and learning, and an occupational therapist can evaluate a child’s skills for play activities, school performance, and activities of daily living, I am very impressed to see that Laredo offers the right Occupational quality care here at home”. Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.
