 Tour Group

A second group pulls into Laredo all the way from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on Thursday, April 15 through Saturday, April 17, 2010.  This is the second of a series of student groups that have been hosted by the Laredo CVB.  Organized by tour operator, Margarita de la Torre in Zapopan, Jalisco, and Laredo CVB staff and its satellite office staff from Casa Laredo in Monterrey, the students have an interest in international trade careers.  They are currently enrolled at the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac, (UNIVA) Guadalajara, Jalisco.  There will be approximately 25 students on this trip.  They will be visiting various areas in Laredo and Nuevo Laredo, including port offices and Texas A&M International University.

“Laredo’s and Nuevo Laredo’s port status and trade handling community were very attractive to this particular tour operator and she thought to put together student focused tours to view this particular industry up close,” stated Laredo CVB Acting Director Blasita J. Lopez.  “The first student group that we hosted from Guadalajara with this tour operator was in November 2009 and we are looking forward to having other similar groups in the near future.”

Laredo CVB staff in Monterrey and Laredo were able to assist both groups with planning their accommodations, meeting space, transportation, itinerary development, welcome packets and small souvenirs as well as staffing their events while they are in Laredo.
