Sheriff Cuellar: Crime Stoppers Tip Line works and it pays
Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Tuesday, February 16, 2010, an anonymous call to the Crime Stoppers Division, led Deputies and ICE Agents to the 1900 block of Camp Street. Further investigation led to the seizure of 1.2 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $76.00. Also seized, was 1.34 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $678.00. Drug paraphernalia which included: weigh scales, baggies, a smoking pipe and narcotics grinder, all indications that narcotics are sold in street level amounts, were also discovered. Weapons were also seized from the residence which included: a 12 gauge shotgun, long rifle and 2 semi automatic handguns. Irene Castillo, 38 and Raul Castaneda, 17, were arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Castillo and Castaneda were transported to The Webb County Jail in lieu of no bond pending magistration.
