On February 25, 2010 at approximately 8:15 pm, 911 Dispatch received a call of a suspicious vehicle by Prada-machine /Pamplona. As officers arrived they observed a van by Murcia and Lugo. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the van refused to stop and a pursuit began. The pursuit went south on Salamanca and during the pursuit, officers saw 4 persons jumping out and also being pushed out of the van. The pursuit ended by Lopez De Vega and Gen. Franco. The van was intentionally braking trying to get the ensuing officers to crash into the back of the van. The van eventually came to a stop and the driver was detained and placed under arrest. Four people (illegal immigrants) were located with minor injuries and were treated by an ambulance. The four people (2 men & 2 women) were then taken to PD headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. A 23 year old identified as Oscar Javier Gramajo was charged with evading arrest/detention, Aggravated Assault (2 counts), Assault on a Police Officer with a Motor vehicle (Due to the fact that the driver was attempting to disable the pursuing officer by braking and forcing the Police Cruiser to collide into the suspect’s van), deadly conduct (2 counts) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Dollar bill with cocaine). The four immigrants were turned over to Border Patrol.
