Laredo Energy Title Sponsor for All Star Game

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League are proud to announce that Laredo Energy will be the title sponsor of the 2010 All-Star game that will be held on January 13th at the Laredo Entertainment Center.  Bucks Majority Owner Glenn Hart is the CEO and President of Laredo Energy.  “We are extremely proud to be hosting the all-star game again this year, and we thought it was only appropriate to team Laredo Energy and the Laredo Bucks together for this huge event in our backyard,” said Hart. “We are looking forward to Laredo Energy and the Laredo Bucks to continue the long partnership that we have had for many years.”

“We are proud to once again be teaming up with Laredo Energy,” said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. “It’s only fitting that we partner up with Glenn Hart, along with his partners and staff for this extroardinary event here in South Texas. It should be a memorable event and we are honored have their support.”  The Bucks will team up with Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley to form the South Texas All-Star team, and will take on the rest of the CHL All-Stars.

Since 1982, the management team of Laredo Energy has focused exclusively on natural gas development in South Texas and has drilled over 300 wells in Webb and Zapata Counties, and continues to drill 20 to 30 wells per year. The night before the game, on Tuesday January 12th the Bucks will host the All-Star Banquet presented by Laredo Energy. This is your chance to meet both the South Texas All-Star team, and the CHL All-Star team. For banquet ticket information, call 718-BUCK (2825).

Laredo becomes the first CHL Franchise to host the All-Star Game twice in the same arena, as the 2005 game was held at the LEC. Oklahoma City has hosted the All-Star Game twice, but in two different venues. The Blazers held the 1999 game at the Myriad, while the 2003 game was at the Ford Center.

The 2005 All-Star Game was won by the North 14-13 in a shootout, in front of 5,500 fans at the LEC. During the 2005 All-Star festivities the Stanley Cup made it’s first ever trip to Mexico, as it was taken across the border to Nuevo Laredo.

The Bucks, along with the Central Hockey League, will be making other announcements about the game, such as TV and radio Broadcast plans, and more banquet information in the coming weeks.
