Blanketing the Community With Love

The City of Laredo Commission for Women and Young Women’s Commission have been busy collecting blankets for the elderly. This is the second time the Commission has undertaken this event and both of these groups of ladies have been out in the community collecting donations. The give-away of blankets will take place during a Posada at the nursing home, where the Commission will also give out punch, hot chocolate and cookies to the elderly.
“At Christmas time, it is important that we remember our elderly citizens and we thought the blankets would be a wonderful extension of the council members’ love and warmth for our ancianitos,” said Rodriguez.
