Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies Seize 167 Pounds of Marijuana in Rio Bravo

 Laredo, Texas – On Sunday, November 8, 2009, at approximately 9:46 a.m., Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop at the 1100 Paseo De Danubio Road, Rio Bravo, Texas.  The Driver of the vehicle refused to stop driving away at a high rate of speed, in an attempt to elude Deputies.  As soon as vehicle came to a  stop at an abandoned lot located at 1800 block of Patricia Road, The driver abandoned the vehicle and absconded into the brush.

Sheriff’s Deputies discovered 2 large bundles of marijuana, weighing 167.4 pounds with an approximate street value of $84,704, inside a 1997 red Ford Thunderbird the suspect was driving, The investigation is ongoing. No arrest at this time.

 “Our Deputies continue to be very vigilant in Rio Bravo and El Cenizo in order to keep our communities safe, I urge the residents of this cities to report any criminal activity to Crime Stoppers at 727-TIPS.” Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.

    hey whats the deal with all these pot busts by the sheriffs dept they get the load by the suspects all get away back track on the stories here and you will see how no one ever gets caught makes me wonder if this is all not a scam just like the grenade incident at the court house you know you guys planted that grenade
