Jury selection began in the 49th District Court in the trial of Emilio Barron. Barron is accused of having violently attacked Jose Vidal Rodriguez and his son Abiel Rodriguez.
At approximately 6am on the morning of January 20, 2009, the elder Rodriguez was celebrating his birthday and chose to accompany his son to work. Both victims suffered injuries in the attack, including blunt force trauma. The elder Rodriguez later succumbed to his injuries and died at a local hospital.
Barron is charged with Murder and two counts of Aggravated Robbery.
