Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigators Seize more than 1,000 Rounds of Ammunition Underneath Mobile Home

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On October 13,2009, The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Crime Stoppers division received a Crime Stoppers tip reporting suspicious activity at the 5000 block of Cerros, street where the caller was complaining about heavy vehicular traffic. An investigation was immediately generated by the Webb County Sheriff’s Narcotic Investigators along with the assistance of Immigration, Custom Enforcement BEST (Border Enforcement Security Task force) unit. Narcotics Investigators found Ricardo Cruz Garcia DOB 04/01/1970 concealing approximately 10 pounds of marijuana in the duct work of the mobile home, Cruz Garcia was arrested and remanded to the Webb County jail. 
The marijuana had an estimated street value of $ 5,060.00. Narcotics Investigators, continuing their investigation found two separate duffle bags with a Russian SKS and scope (7.62×39 caliber) along with more than a thousand rounds of ammunition underneath the mobile home.
“ This type of Rifle, marijuana and amount of ammunition was certainly a significant find. The Crime Stoppers Division at the Webb County Sheriff’s Office is working diligently to take it off the streets.
