LISD Teens in the Driver Seat Gala

The Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts Teens in the Driver Seat Organization (TDS) will be honoring the founding members of the TDS Community Advisory Board at a Dinner and Dance Gala. The Gala will be on Thursday, October 22, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Laredo Police Officers Association Unity Hall located at 6426 Polaris.
The Community Advisory Board is the first such board in the State of Texas for the TDS program. The founding members include; Fernando A. Salinas of the Salinas Charitable Trust Fund; Isidro “Chilo” Alaniz, District Attorney; Martin Cuellar, Webb County Sheriff; Cindy Liendo Espinoza, Laredo City Council; Tim Gutierrez, KGNS Anchor; Jesus Martinez, LISD Trustee; Mercurio Martinez; Ricardo and Melissa Rodriguez; Javier B. Santos from the Salinas Charitable Trust Fund; and Jose A. Valdez Jr., Laredo City Council.
The monies raised at this event will benefit the Teens in the Driver Seat Organization to continue promoting safe teen driving practices in the community. Driver’s education scholarships will also be awarded in memory of Mercurio Martinez, IV.
Entertainment will be provided by the Jazz Connection. Tickets are available for $50 and tables for 10 persons are $500.
