Laredo Commission for Women Induct New Members

At an event held at La Posada Hotel the newest members of the Young Commission for Women were honored and inducted by the Laredo Commission for Women, an organization whose mission it is to promote equality in legal, social, political, economic and educational opportunity and advancement for all women throughout the City of Laredo. The inductees will serve on the commission for two years and join their senior counterparts at their regular monthly meetings.
“These young women will dialogue with the Commission on issues they are believe are important or need attention,” said Erica Garcia, chair of the Laredo Commission for Women. “They also assist at all community events that the Commission is involved in.”
This year’s inductees, one from each high school, are all juniors. They are:
1. Carolina Alexander, St. Augustine High School;
2. Barbara Escamilla, Early College High School
3. Jessica Garcia, LBJ High School;
4. Jennifer Nicole Garza, J.W. Nixon High School;
5. Montserrat Guardiola, United High Schoool;
6. Nicole Hinojosa, United South High School;
7. Melany Nicole Medina, Martin High School;
8. Nancy Pacheco, Cigarroa High School;
9. Priscilla Perez, Alexander High School.
