Exotic Bird Case Solved

Laredo, Texas – The Webb County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted the search for 2 exotic birds that were stolen from a residence at the 1500 block of Laredo, St., The owner of the birds supplied officers with the video of two male individuals that jumped the fence of the residence and proceeded to break the locks to the bird’s cage.
After several days of investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies discovered that the exotic birds had been sold to 2 subjects who then resold the birds to a local business, the birds were eventually recovered by Sheriff’s Investigators and returned to the original owner. Arrested on this case were Gerardo Martinez, 23 years of age (remains in jail) and Joaquin Joel Montemayor, 29 years of age was released on a $50,000 bond.
“ These exotic birds were approximately 25 years old and had a very strong sentimental value to the owner, I am extremely proud of the investigative work that our deputies played in this case” Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.
