Body Found in El Chacon Area Marks 16th Homicide of Year

On Thursday October 15, 2009 Laredo Police were notified of a body found in an empty field at the 3100 block of Chacon. There the body of a male John Doe was located and appeared to have been at the site for at least a full day. The Medical Examiner took custody of the body and conducted an autopsy over the weekend. The male victim was identified as David Lee Mendez, 08/08/91. The victim had been reported missing on Wednesday by his family. The victim apparently suffered from an apparent shooting. The homicide marks the city’s 16th homicide of 2009. The Homicide Division is conducting a murder investigation. Since the body was found near a residential area the police would like to ask the community for any information about this murder case. All calls will remain anonymous.
