Recognitions at City Council Meeting

City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas and the Laredo City Council recently recognized some outstanding Laredoans for their accomplishments and contributions to Laredos’ community.
Eduardo “Eddy” Gonzalez Montemayor was honored for being the winning pitcher for Mexico in defeating Japan at the Cal Ripken Jr. World Series in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Additionally Gabriel Lopez, President, South Texas Afghanistan-Iraq Association, was recognized for establishing the new local organization that supports our brave soldiers returning from active duty abroad.
Finally, members of the Sister Cities Youth Committee also made a presentation on their recent travel to Tepatitlan, Jalisco and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato where they participated in a Youth Exchange Program.
The next City Council meeting will be on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.
