Over Half a Million Dollars Worth of Marijuana Seized! Five Arrested!

On September 2, 2009 , at approximately 7:26 p.m. the Laredo Police Narcotics & vice Unit assisted by Laredo Police K-9, followed a load vehicle and two escort vehicles away from a residence under surveillance on the 2600 block of Reynolds. A traffic stop was conducted by Clark and Mendiola but the load vehicle refused to stop for the LPD marked unit. The load vehicle continued west on Clark weaving through traffic before colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Clark and San Enrique. The driver of the load vehicle exited the vehicle and ran south before being apprehended. There were no injuries as a result of the crash. The two escort vehicles were also stopped the occupants of those vehicles were also apprehended without incident. A search of the load vehicle revealed 80 packages of marijuana with a total approximate gross weight of 1,110 Lbs. A state narcotic search warrant was conducted at 2601 Reynolds which also netted approximately 30 Lbs. of marijuana. Arrested were Luis Alberto Aguilar DOB: 07/22/1988, Noe Lopez Salazar DOB: 04/18/1975, Alfredo Carlos Esparza DOB: 05/18/1980, Roberto Zamora Valdez DOB: 12/15/1989 and Cosme Gerardo Briseno DOB: 02/21/1986. All subjects were charged with Possession of a Marijuana F/2 and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity F/1. Subjects were read their Miranda Warnings and transported to the Laredo Police Department where they were booked and later remanded to the Webb County Jail and held pending Magistration.
