Daniel Cerda Indicted for Indecency with a Child

Prosecutors with the Special Victims Unit of the Office of the District Attorney presented criminal cases to the Grand Jury of the 406th District Court yesterday and report the following indictment:
Defendant Edgar Cerda (12/21/1968) is facing a charge of Indecency with a Child by Contact, a second degree felony with a punishment range of two to twenty years. The Laredo Police Department criminal investigation reveals that a Laredo child was visiting with relatives in from out of town and staying at a local motel. The child was swimming with those relatives at the motel pool and made his way to the restroom where he was approached by the Defendant and allegedly fondled. The Defendant is charged with having engaged in sexual contact with the child by touching the child’s genitals with his hand.
