25 Year Old Dies in Oil Rig Accident
Laredo, Texas – On Wednesday September 2, 2009 at approximately 1:11 pm, Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call which led them to the scene of the fatal accident. The accident occurred at a ranch off Hwy 83, 12 miles north of IH35.
It is alleged that the derrick falling towards the drilling rig motor with the deceased subject still latched on to the derrick, led to the deceased person being crushed between the derrick and the rig motor. The deceased was 25 years of age.
