CUELLAR STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF SENATOR EDWARD M. KENNEDY

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) today released this statement following the passing of U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy:
“Last night, we lost a great American whose legacy will likely outlive us all. Senator Edward M. Kennedy is an irreplaceable part of American politics; he led an extraordinary life defending the core principles of this country, creating equal opportunities for Americans of all backgrounds,” said Congressman Henry Cuellar. “He was an inspiring leader who wasn’t afraid to reach across the aisle. He was a champion for civil rights and a true believer in education and health care. His name is synonymous with respect and fairness. His contributions will undoubtedly live on. Senator Kennedy was a lifelong public servant who will be greatly missed in Congress and beyond.”
