CONGRESSMAN HENRY CUELLAR TO PARTICIPATE IN TOWN HALL MEETING IN LAREDO

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar on Thursday will participate in a town hall meeting in Laredo hosted by Mercy Ministries of Laredo. Congressman Cuellar invites residents to attend the event and participate in a health care conversation as Congress considers health care reform. This is the third town hall meeting Congressman Cuellar will participate in throughout his Congressional district during the August work period. Over the past three weeks, Congressman Cuellar has had health care meetings spanning the northern and southern parts of the district. Last month, he hosted a town hall meeting in Lake McQueeney and last week, he hosted a tele-town hall meeting with over 6,875 callers. On Monday, he hosted a town hall meeting in McAllen, Texas.
Immediately before the town hall meeting on Thursday, Congressman Cuellar will announce that a second Laredoan has been selected to participate in the prestigious Congressional Page Program. Raquel Cruz, a junior at Nixon High School, will leave Sunday to Washington, DC, to participate in the program for five months. As a Page, Raquel will provide administrative support to the House of Representatives in a variety of capacities.
