BRONCOS BLANKED BY ROADRUNNERS

August 22, 2009-Edinburg, TX-The Laredo Broncos offense only mustered two hits, as they lost to the Edinburg Roadrunners by a score of 5-0 at Edinburg Baseball Stadium, on Saturday.
The Roadrunners scored first in the third inning. Hector Garanzuay hit an rbi double that scored Sergio Guerrero. That made the score 1-0.
The Roadrunners added on to their lead in the fourth. Wilmer Pino knocked in Osiel Flores with a single. Then a double steal was put on by Edinburg which allowed Eric Gonzalez to steal home. The score was now 3-0.
Broncos’ starter Aaron Jenkins pitched well in his seven innings of work. He gave up three runs, on six hits, walked five, and struck out two. Fernando Rijo came in and gave up a two run single to Eric Gonzalez. That gave Edinburg the 5-0 lead.
The Broncos did no damage in the ninth, as they lost by a score of 5-0.
The Broncos scored 0 runs on 2 hits and had 0 errors while the Roadrunners scored 5 runs on 7 hits and had 1 error.
The Broncos are now 22-49 on the season while the Roadrunners are 40-31. The Broncos will next be in action Sunday August 23rd, as they play game three of a four game series against the Edinburg Roadrunners in Edinburg at 6:05.
