Upcoming Dates for Rabies “Vacuna” Clinics

Courtesy Xochitl Mora,

Laredo, TX – -The City of Laredo Health Department will hold its regularly scheduled rabies clinic.  We want to inform the public that recently our animal control officers have seen a surge of unvaccinated pets.  Additionally, a local boy was bitten by an unvaccinated dog putting him at potential risk of rabies. We urge everyone to get their pets vaccinated.  Unvaccinated pets put the public at risk for rabies.  Also, we want to remind the public that it is their responsibility to safeguard the health and welfare of their pets not only against rabies vaccine but to also protect them against other illnesses as well as against fleas and ticks.

In Laredo we must vaccinate each year to protect your pet and family against rabies.  Rabies can spread quickly and easily among dogs and cats; our concern is the potential human exposure, which can be deadly.

Therefore, we urge the public to vaccinate their pets either through their private veterinarian or through the Health Department at our 2 monthly vaccine clinics.  In addition to vaccinating, the best protection and responsible caring for your pet is to assure that they are protected against other diseases such as parvo virus and distemper; as well as, to spay and neuter their pets.
