Cigarroa High School Hires New Football Coach

Laredo Independent School District announces the hiring of the new football coach at Cigarroa High School. Cigarroa First Assistant/Defensive Coordinator Frank De Hoyos has been promoted to Head Coach effective immediately. De Hoyos has been interm coach since Manny Martinez resigned over the summer to accept a job at Memorial High School with Edgewood ISD in San Antonio.
Coach Frank De Hoyos has been an employee of the Laredo ISD for 28 years and has been part of the coaching staff at Cigarroa for 26 years. “Coach De Hoyos is an excellent role model for the students-athletes and is well respected by administration and faculty,” stated Rene Ramirez, LISD Athletic Director. “He will be a great fit for Cigarroa High School. The LISD Athletic Department is confident that he will work hard to continue to improve the Cigarroa Toros athletic program.”
